Workflows, the nuts and bolts of CRM

CRM Workflows

Workflows are designed to do things that would usually require data input. For example when a contact is created in CRM it could send notifications to people to get in touch with the new contact. Or it could even send an email to the contact for you with their details already filled in. The Workflows Training Course shows you how to create very simple or very complex workflows to work inside a business’s CRM. Not only does the Workflow Course tell you how to create workflows, but it also uses labs and procedures to walk you through them as well, making it much easier to learn, and understand how to make workflows.

Creating a new Workflow

  1. In the Navigation Pane, click Settings, and then Workflows.
  2. On the Actions Toolbar, click New.
  3. Type a Workflow name and click Ok.
  4. Click the Add Step drop down and select Send E-mail.
  5. Click Set Properties.
  6. Use the lookup icon to select who it is from.
  7. Click into the To field. On the Form Assistant, under Look for, select Account, and then Created by.
  8. Click Add, and then Ok.
  9. In the subject type “You’ve created a new account”.
  10. Click Save and Close.
  11. Click Publish on the Actions Toolbar to publish the workflow.
  12. Click Close to close the Workflow.
  13. To test the workflow, creating a new Account record, then save but don’t close the account, and then click the Workflows link on the Details section and confirm that the Workflow you created is there.
